The new metallophosphates, IM-6, have a characteristic X-ray diffraction pattern and comprise an organic base combined with a metallophosphate including a trivalent metal and optionally partially substituted with a divalent and tetravalent metal. The new metallophosphates are of formula Rs(GgPpXxYy)O2. G = one or more trivalent metal(s); R = one or more organic compound(s); X = one or more divalent element(s); Y = one or more tetravalent element(s); s = less than or equal to 0.2; g = less than or equal to 0.5; p = less than or equal to 0.5; x = less than or equal to 0.4; y = less than or equal to 0.3; and g + p + x + y = 1. An Independent claim is also included for the preparation of the above compound.
