A system and method for welding with a first and second arc between a first (10) and second (12) electrode, respectively, and a common workpiece, where each of the electrodes (10,12) is driven by a single power source (32,34), where there is a first inductor (42) connected in series with the first electrode (10) and a second inductor (44) connected in series with the second electrode (12) and each of the inductors (42,44) has sufficient inductive reactance to store enough energy to maintain an existing arc associated with one of the electrodes (10,12) for a selected general time with essentially no current to the one electrode. <IMAGE> |
