The seat and/or handlebars can be moved relative to the crank used to generate a resistance force during pedalling via at least one motor-driven carriage. A control unit is used to move the carriage during pedalling. The carriage is connected to a position sensor for continuously determining the position of the seat and/or handlebars relative to the crank during pedalling.
