The connector has two conductive units (2, 4) movable between open and closed positions. Each conductive unit has contact slits (36, 56) to locally strip an insulated electrical conductor (60) when the conductor is introduced into the slit. Each unit has a folded zone forming an elastic loop. The loops are simultaneously spaced during introduction of the conductor. An outer surface of one loop engages inner surface of another loop. The insulated electrical conductor is introduced into the slit in the open position and is connected in the closed position. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is also included for a self-stripping connection device comprising a case made of insulating material having a self-stripping connector.
