<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an improved specified lengths feeder for a wire rod, in which the wire rod (insulating coated electric wire) is fed at a high dimensional accuracy by a quantitative length, and also the tact time required for specified lengths feeding of the wire rod is shortened, thereby improving the productivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the specified lengths feeder for the wire rod which feeds a wire rod 1 toward a process zone 8 each by a prescribed length amount L, a feed roller 2 which is driven by a pulse motor 4 is disposed in the wire rod feed path, and the wire rod is fed frontward from a wire rod guide 5, as the start point of length measurement by the feeding operation. As an actually feeding amount length measuring means of the wire rod, a gauge head 7a is make to face frontward of the wire rod feed path and a differential transformer type linear gauge 7 (contact type displacement sensor) is arranged. When a pointed end of the wire rod reaches a position set by the displacement sensor in an operation process of the wire rod feeding, a roller-feeding mechanism is controlled to stop according to the measurement signal. Further, in order to shorten the tact time in the wire rod feeding process, the wire rod is fed fast at a fixed speed in a feeding stroke from a standby position to the measurement range of the linear gauge, and a wire rod feed speed is switched to a slow speed, only within the measurement range of the linear gauge. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
