<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas sensor, capable of acquiring stable sensor output to the temperature of a gas to be measured and the temperature of a heater. <P>SOLUTION: The gas sensor has a sensor element 2 comprises a cup-like solid electrolytic body 20, provided with an atmospheric chamber 200 inside and having a blocked tip side; an electrode 22 on the side of the gas to be measured and provided for a side of the solid electrolytic body 20 facing the gas to be measured; and an electrode 21, on the side of a reference gas and provided for a side facing to the atmospheric chamber 200. The atmospheric chamber 200 of the sensor element 2 is provided with the heater 3 heated by energization. At least either the region of arrangement of the electrode 22 on the side of the gas to be measured or of the electrode 21 on the side of the reference gas is separated from a contact part 301 in between the solid electrolytic body 20 and the heater in the axial direction of the gas sensor by a distance of 3-10 mm. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
