PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an exhaust pressure increaser of an internal combustion engine having high sticking resistance. SOLUTION: This exhaust pressure increaser has a butterfly valve 9 interposed in an exhaust pipe 8 and capable of increasing exhaust pressure, a relief valve 13 capable of adjusting the exhaust pressure in closing operation of the butterfly valve 9, and a valve seat part for seating the relief valve 13 in closing operation of the relief valve 13. An upward pointing projection part is arranged in one positioned in any lower side of the relief valve 13 and the valve seat part. In a state of seating the relief valve 13 on the valve seat part, the other of the relief valve 13 and the valve seat part is formed by overhanging outside from the outside edge of the projection part.
