PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication terminal and an information providing system that make it possible to immediately browse desired information from among transmitted streaming sub-information. SOLUTION: A plurality of pieces of streaming sub-information are transmitted from a radio base station 3 to a mobile telephone 1, which selectively receives and displays streaming sub-information on a 1st display means; when a specified operation is carried out, while this streaming sub-information is displayed, a streaming main information request signal is sent to the radio base station, together with terminal identification information for identifying the mobile telephone 1; and when this streaming main information request signal is received via the radio base station 3 together with the terminal identification information, streaming main information specified with the terminal identification information is transmitted from the radio base station to the mobile telephone 1, which receives and displays the streaming main information on a 2nd display means.
