A drilling bar (2) is guided through a bore provided at the blank (1), held at one end in a tailstock (3) and is movable joined to a rocker arm (5) with its opposite end. The bar (2) is linear moved by the rocker arm (5) joined to a servo drive (8) and a spindle (7). A rotary motion of the rocker arm (5) is caused be second spindle (10) in order to create a non-circular bore with a cutting blade located at the drill bar (2). A shaping cam (9) is scanned by the rocker arm (5) during the process in order to create a complementary inner surface in the bore.
