<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain economization by simplifying a structure of an optical branching filter, to make uniform the strength, between modes, of an optical signal transmitted inside a multi-mode optical fiber or a plastic optical fiber of an optical fiber tape, and to improve a transmission band by suppressing the influence of inter-mode delay. <P>SOLUTION: Optical branching filter 30 is composed of: a photo-coupler 34 for branching optical signals of wavelengths λ<SB>1</SB>-λ<SB>N</SB>from a single-mode optical fiber 2 into M signals; and a wavelength separation distributing section 35 for demultiplexing M optical signals including the optical signals of wavelengths λ<SB>1</SB>-λ<SB>N</SB>from the photo-coupler 34 into optical signals of different wavelengths λ<SB>1</SB>-λ<SB>N</SB>by means of shared grating for common use and entering the optical signals into one terminal of each of N multi-mode optical fibers of optical fiber tapes 4-1 to 4-M, thereby transmitting the optical signals of wavelengths so as to be transmitted at a position deviated from, at an extend of spreading a transmission band, the center of the core in the N multi-mode optical fibers of the optical fiber tapes 4-1 to 4-M from an optical transmitter 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
