PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide communication system and method in which synchronization of code is facilitated and availability of communication is enhanced. SOLUTION: The communication system for vehicle comprises a communication terminal 1 performing communication by code multiplex mobile communication system, and a vehicle mounted information terminal 2 connected with the communication terminal 1 wherein the communication terminal 1 comprises a section 20 for detecting normal synchronization of code, a control section 10 for transmitting detection results from the code synchronization detecting section 20 to the vehicle mounted information terminal 2, and a section 30 for resetting the communication terminal 1. The vehicle mounted information terminal 2 comprises a communication terminal monitoring section 50 receiving the detection results, a section 120 for designating the resetting section 30 to reset the communication terminal 1 upon receiving such detection results as indicating that the code synchronization is not performed normally, a speed detecting section 70 for measuring the speed of a vehicle when normal operation performing normal code synchronization is not reset even if the communication terminal 1 is reset, and a section 60 presenting information for lowering vehicle speed to the crew of a vehicle when the vehicle speed is not lower than a predetermined level.
