PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely avoid a collision between an article which appears in front of a truck and the truck while the truck is traveling. SOLUTION: This movable X-ray imaging apparatus measures a distance between the article which appears in front of the truck 1 or on the side being closer to the front side and the truck 1 by distance sensors 15A to 15F while the truck 1 is traveling. At the same time, when the measurement result by the distance sensors 15A to 15F is a predetermined specified distance or lower, the movable X-ray imaging apparatus performs a speed reducing control which reduces the rotation speed of an electric motor 4 for traveling by a motor rotation speed controlling section 5. Therefore, the truck 1 can travel while surely avoiding a collision with the article which appears in front of the truck 1 or on the side being closer to the front side during traveling. This device forces the truck 1 into a halt by the operation of an electromagnetic brake 16 when the measurement result of the distance between the article and the truck 1 by the distance sensors 15A to 15F is a predetermined allowable distance or lower. Therefore, even when the truck 1 has approached the article which appears in front of the truck 1 or on a side closer to the front side by a distance lower than the allowable distance, there is no fear for the collision between the truck 1 and the article.
