PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an efficient electric kettle securely spot-welded even with a narrowed mouth of an inner container, heating a liquid in the inner container up to a desired temperature, having a controlled heating effect and power consumption without waste. SOLUTION: The electric kettle 1 is provided with: the inner container 3 which has a bottomed cylindrical shape, a bottom portion with a single wall, a body portion with a vacuum double wall, and the mouth inwardly narrowed toward the center; a flat heater 7 extensively provided on the outer wall of the bottom of the inner container 3 and heating the liquid in the inner container 3; and a heater deck plate fixed around the outer wall of the bottom of the inner container 3 and pressing and holding the flat heater 7 on the bottom of the inner container. The flat heater 7 has a two phase of a main heater for boiling water and a sub-heater for warming, the single wall part at the bottom of the inner container has a diameter smaller than the minimum inner diameter near the mouth, and the heater deck plate is spot-welded around the single wall part at the bottom of the inner container.
