PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dialkylphosphinate, its application, and its producing method. SOLUTION: In a diorganylphosphinate represented by formula (I) and/or a diorganyldiphosphinate represented by formula (II) [in formulas (I) and (II), R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>2</SP>are each a 1-6C alkyl and/or aryl; R<SP>3</SP>is a 1-10C alkylene, or the like; M is Mg, Ca, Al, or the like and/or a proton formed nitrogen base], and those polymers, a total content of a partially water-soluble and ionizable compound and a water-soluble matter content of the partially water-soluble and ionizable compound are 8,200-100 ppm, and preferably 7,000-200 ppm.
