PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pneumatic tire capable of realizing excellent on-snow performance by effectively generating the force from transverse grooves in the on-snow traction mode. SOLUTION: The pneumatic tire (10) has a pattern in which a block (18) is formed on a tread (12) by a plurality of transverse grooves (16) extending in the tire width direction while changing the angle of inclination to the tire circumferential direction. In the transverse grooves, the angle of a groove side wall (22) of each transverse groove is changed so that the horizontal distance (La) in the tire circumferential direction from a ridge (26) of the groove on a tire surface to a line (28) of the groove bottom is constant when viewed from the direction normal to the tire surface.
