PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the heat exchanging efficiency and to reduce the cost. SOLUTION: In this tube type heat exchanger 11 for high temperature gas constituted to exchange the heat between a low-temperature fluid circulated inside of tubes 13 arranged zigzag over a plurality of rows in the horizontal direction and a plurality of stages in the vertical direction and a high-temperature gas flowing among the tubes 13, each tube 13 is mounted in such a state that heights of flow passages 18, 24 at a lower side of the high temperature gas is higher than heights of flow passages 19, 25 at its upper side.
