PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine control device which can reduce a period of starting time of a main engine when restarting the stopped main engine according to a starting operation of a driver in such a structure that the main engine is started by a sub engine. SOLUTION: When an ignition switch 80 is shifted from an IG ON position to an ACC position during operation of both the main engine 10 and the sub engine 20, only the main engine 10 is stopped. Under the above condition, when the ignition switch 80 is shifted to a START position, an electromagnetic clutch 13 is engaged so that the main engine 10 is started by the sub engine 20. At this time, since the sub engine 20 is continuously being operated, the main engine 10 can be started quickly when the ignition switch 80 is shifted to the START position.
