PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a guide member for a lightweight conveyor belt capable of preventing fragments and abrasive powder from being produced by eliminating the meandering of the belt even when used in a high temperature and high humidity atmosphere. SOLUTION: This guide member 2 is formed by molding a thermoplastic resin, forming an elastic body at room temperature, in a chord-like body having a cross section of a trapezoidal shape. A lower groove 5 extending in the longitudinal or lateral direction is formed in the bottom face part 11 of the chord-like body, and the chord-like body is welded to a belt body 3 by using the lower groove 5 as a welding margin. In a conventional lightweight conveyor belt with a guide member, when the guide member is adhered to the belt at room temperature, it could not be used in the high temperature and high humidity atmosphere. When the guide member is thermally welded, the guide member was hard to be peeled off due to the accumulation of air and the occurrence of burrs, and the fragments or abrasive powder of the belt were mixed in a carried matter.
