PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a floor mat for an automobile having excellent surface appearance and sound absorbing property and exerting excellent slipping resistance in relation to a laying bed surface. SOLUTION: This manufacturing method includes a heating process for heating and softening a thermoplastic resin sheet 10 and a molding process for projectingly providing a projection 3 for slipping resistance made of thermoplastic resin on a rear face of a fiber mat main body 2 by placing the thermoplastic resin sheet 10 in a softening state on the fiber mat main body 2 arranged by turning the rear face side up and pressing the sheet 10 by mounting a molding metallic mold 11 provided with a cavity 12 for forming a projection on the sheet 10.
