<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display method which displays a large number of retrieval object images at high speed in a three-dimensional space, with intelligible image expression, and by which user's eyes are hardly tired. <P>SOLUTION: The image display method includes: processing for reading a plurality of pieces of image data and arrangement information of each image in the three-dimensional space; viewpoint setting/transfer processing in a space for specifying setting/transfer of viewpoints in the space; processing for calculating simplified two-dimensional arrangement expressing an image data original form as a two-dimensional image converted by parallel magnifying projection processing for performing parallel movement processing corresponding to directions of the respective images and magnifying/reducing processing corresponding to size of the respective images on the basis of relation between the arrangement information of each image and the viewpoint information in the space; display image generation processing for generating a display image according to the simplified two-dimensional arrangement; and processing for displaying the display image. The image expression is made intelligible by guide display of a multi-resolution composite image, a segmented image and a background image, fatigue of the eyes is evaluated and minimized on the basis of optical flow. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
