<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve simplification of system construction and reduction of producing costs, in a vehicle control system to which radio technology is applied. <P>SOLUTION: A monitoring ECU 10 transmits an inquiry signal wherein an identification pattern for a smart key is added to a rising signal when an ignition switch is turned off. Then, when a portable machine 20 exists in a communication area of the monitoring ECU 10, a response signal is returned from the portable machine 20, and control as a smart key system is executed by the monitoring ECU 10 and the portable machine 20 after that. The monitoring ECU 10 transmits the inquiry signal wherein an identification pattern for a tire Ti is added to the rising signal when the ignition switch is turned on.
