PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a user to simply instal software. SOLUTION: In order to install the software, a storage medium 300 storing software management information 320 including authentication information (software ID (Identification), serial ID, a license key) on the software and a server connection program 310 are provided in an electronic instrument 100. The electronic instrument 100 has a server connection processing section 311 communicated with a software management server 200 by implementing the server connection program 310. The server connection processing section 311 reads software management information from the storage medium 300, and transmits the software management information to the software management server 200. The software authentication processing section 210B of the software management server 200 authenticates the software based on the authentication information, when the authentication finds success, installation data for automatically installing the software is transmitted to the electronic instrument 100.
