ULTRASONIC PROBE AND ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTIC APPARATUS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic probe capable of reducing side lobe without complicating apparatus configuration. SOLUTION: The ultrasonic probe comprises a plurality of piezoelectric layers 15a transmitting and receiving ultrasonic wave in a polarizing direction almost orthogonal to an array direction; conductive first acoustic matching layers 18 each provided at one end face out of two end faces almost orthogonal to the polarizing direction of the piezoelectric element layer 15a; and signal wiring 31b for a flexible printed circuit board 31 provided at the other end face of the piezoelectric element layer 15a. The piezoelectric element layer 15a and the first acoustic matching layer 18 have a plurality of groove parts 41, 42 almost parallel with the array direction and extending from the other end face of the piezoelectric element layer 15a to the halfway part of the first acoustic matching layer 18. Weighting is performed in a lens direction orthogonal to the array direction and polarizing direction according to the layout and form of the plurality of groove parts 41, 42 to transmit and receive ultrasonic wave.
