A correction coefficient calculation section 21b calculates a uv gain correction coefficient according to the found distance. A luminance gain correction coefficient calculation section 22 calculates a luminance gain correction coefficient in a mode set by a coefficient calculating method setting section 29. A u-direction correction quantity calculation section 23 and a v-directional correction quantity calculation section 24 calculate a correction quantity for the uv signal by a calculating method set by a direction correction quantity calculating method setting section 30. Adders 26 and 25 add the correction quantities supplied from the u-direction correction quantity calculation section 23 and v-direction correction quantity calculation section 24 to make corrections.
