PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a skin care preparation for external use that does not cause greasiness and has excellent firmness feel and excellent effect on beautiful skin formation. SOLUTION: This skin care preparation for external use comprises (a) a siliconated polysaccharide compound represented by formula (I) (Glu is a saccharide residue of the polysaccharide compound; X is a bifunctional linking group; Y is an alkylene group that may contain O, N, S, a phenylene group, a carbonyloxy group or an oxycarbonyl group in the main chain and may contain a substituent group selected from OH group, an alkoxy group and an alkyl group and contains 2-8 total carbon atoms; R<SP>1</SP>is a 1-8C monofunctional organic group; R<SP>2</SP>, R<SP>3</SP>and R<SP>4</SP>are each a 1-8C monofunctional organic group or an OSiR<SP>5</SP>R<SP>6</SP>R<SP>7</SP>(R<SP>5</SP>, R<SP>6</SP>and R<SP>7</SP>are each a 1-8C monofunctional organic group); A is 0, 1 or 2) and (b) inorganic compound powder obtained by successively laminating inorganic oxides to a scaly substrate in the order of higher refractive indices (difference in refractive index between the outermost layer and the adjacent layer is≤0.6).
