PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively steam rice to the upper part with high-temperature heating and prevent the rice from burning occurring on mainly heating the bottom of an inner pot by raising a temperature of steam closed in an upper part of the pot by heating a side part of the pot on steaming. SOLUTION: The rice cooker is provided with the pot 2 to be detachably housed inside a main body 1, a bottom induction heating means 6 for induction-heating the bottom of the pot 2, a side induction heating means 7 for induction-heating the side part of the pot 2 and a control part 9 for individually controlling heating of the heating means 6 and that of the heating means 7, wherein excessive steam on the rice is expelled by the bottom of the pot 2 being intermittently heated by the heating means 6 at a steaming process. The control part 9 is provided with a high-temperature process control means 11 for raising the temperature of the steam closed in the upper part of the pot 2 by heating the excessive steam expelled by intermittently heating the side of the pot 2 by the heating means 7.
