The invention relates to a method for controlling the temperature during glass production by means of an overflow process. According to said method, molten glass (12) is transferred, optionally after pre-treatment in a refining zone and/or in mixing cells, or after cooling in a cooling zone, to at least one outflow pipe (4) and from there in a dosed manner to at least one muffle pipe (11) that opens into an overflow trough (7), whereby the molten glass (12) that flows over the edge (7') of the overflow trough is allowed to flow along the exterior of the trough and adapts to the shape of the exterior of said trough, the outflow pipe and the muffle pipe being heated. The invention also relates to a corresponding device. The aim of the invention is to provide a method and a device, which permit an effective temperature control and the setting of constant temperatures for the molten glass, even when high flow rates are involved. To achieve this, the wall of at least either the outflow pipe (4) or the muffle pipe (11) consists at least partially of an electroconductive material and the outflow pipe (4) and/or the muffle pipe (11) is/are heated by a current flow in the electroconductive wall material of the relevant pipe (4, 11). |
