<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology capable of obtaining electric energy with high efficiency by utilizing waste heat. <P>SOLUTION: First gas containing hydrogen (H<SB>2</SB>), acetone, and unreacted IPA is obtained from isopropyl alcohol (IPA) by an action of dehydrogenation catalyst by utilizing waste heat. Acetone and hydrogen are separated by heightening the boiling point of the IPA by compressing the first gas by a compressing device 103, and liquefying the IPA under high temperature. Acetone and hydrogen are utilized for a fuel cell reaction, and the IPA is regenerated by the above reaction. On the other hand, as the IPA is pressurized and liquefied in high temperature, heat of condensation can be effectively taken out, and the heat of condensation can be efficiently utilized in a process of volatilization expansion at releasing of the pressure, and the energy of expansion can be utilized for driving the compressing device 103. In the device, a cycle of IPA→hydrogen and acetone→regeneration of the IPA by power generation is repeated in the device, and the power generation utilizing the waste heat is carried out with high efficiency. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
