<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve operability by switching folders through easy operation and making switching operation for folders and image files consistent with a user's concept model. <P>SOLUTION: In a picture ST1, a choice of a folder F1 is displayed with an icon indicating the folder F1. Image files P11 and P12 are reproduced images after photography. In a display frame SC, a photographic image R of a current subject, and icons of the files P11 and P12 and folder F1 are displayed at the same time. The user presses a down button of a cross key 27 to switch the folder from F1 to F2. With the down button pressed, the picture ST1 is changed to a picture ST3 via a picture ST2. In the picture ST 2, numbers in the icons change and a state in the middle of switching of the folders is displayed.
