ULTRASONIC WAVE PROBE AND ULTRASONIC WAVE DIAGNOSTIC DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic wave probe which comprises high reliability to reduce a side lobe and further to uniformize a sound field without complicating a device configuration or a manufacturing process. SOLUTION: There are provided piezoelectric elements 15 which transmit/receive ultrasonic waves in the vertical direction approximately orthogonal to the direction of an array, and each piezoelectric element includes a plurality of grooves 20 which are in parallel with the direction of the array and do not pass through, on at least one of two end faces approximately orthogonal to the vertical direction of the piezoelectric element. The ultrasonic waves are transmitted/received while being weighted in the direction of a lens orthogonal to the direction of the array and the vertical direction in accordance with the shapes or arrangements of the plurality of grooves, and a first acoustic matching layer 18 comprised of a conductive member is bonded along the direction of the lens on the end face including the grooves of the piezoelectric element.
