MAGNETIC HEAD AND ITS MANUFACTURING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problems that, when thick metal magnetic films of≥10μm are deposited on nonmagnetic substrates in a magnetic head for high frequencies constituting magnetic cores of only the metal magnetic films, big curvatures are generated in the substrates and the exfoliation of the metal magnetic films or the destruction of the nonmagnetic substrates occurs due to the stresses in the metal magnetic films. SOLUTION: Winding grooves are formed on major faces where the metal magnetic films of at least one of the pair of nonmagnetic substrates are deposited and at least one stress relaxation grooves for relaxation of the stresses at the time of deposition are formed in parallel with the winding grooves between the adjacent winding grooves. Next, the metal magnetic films are formed on the principal faces. The pair of nonmagnetic substrates are joined by opposing their metal magnetic film surfaces to each other via a magnetic gap consisting of the nonmagnetic films. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
