PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To nondestructively precisely detect a rupture part of reinforcement within concrete in a short time. SOLUTION: (1) A magnetic sensor 2 and a magnetized coil 4 are arranged across a rupture point X of a reinforcement Rx, and the magnitude D1 of magnetic field of the surface of concrete C is obtained by the magnetic sensor 2 and stored. (2) Current is temporarily carried to the magnetized coil 4 to magnetize the reinforcement Rx by a magnetic flux generated form the magnetized coil4. (3) The magnitude of residual magnetism of the reinforcement Rx is measured again by the magnetic sensor 2, and the magnitude D2 of magnetic field is stored. (4) The difference of signals (D2-D1) is determined, and when the difference (D2-D1) is smaller than a threshold, rupture of the reinforcement Rx is determined. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
