PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a roll by which the manufacturing time of the roll is shortened than that by conventional methods and the shortening of delivery and the reduction of a manufacturing cost are made possible. SOLUTION: This method is a manufacturing method of the roll 15 having a roll barrel part 12 on the outer periphery of the base material 10 of which a hard tinkering build-up layer 11 is formed and shaft parts 13, 14 which are respectively provided on the both side parts of the roll barrel part 12, grooves 16, 17 are respectively provided on both side parts of the roll barrel part 12, the shaft parts 13, 14 are arranged and the roll barrel part 12 and the shaft parts 13, 14 are joined by welding these respective grooves 16, 17.
