PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin titanium sintered filter having a large surface area and high strength, and a production method of the filter. SOLUTION: The titanium sintered film has a thickness of≤0.5 mm, a surface area of≥200 m<SP>2</SP>, and a tensile strength of≥150 MPa and is produced by sintering a gas atomized titanium powder to obtain a porous plate and rolling the porous plate. The method provides a sintered filter with an average fine pore diameter of 1μm or smaller even if the raw material powder has a particle diameter of about 20μm. After the rolling of the porous plate, heat treatment at 600 to 1,350°C may be carried out to further increase the tensile strength of the sintered filter. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
