PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pop-up style toaster which prevents dust from getting mixed in the main body and blocks out the heat generated with a heating device. SOLUTION: In a toaster 1 which contains an interior case 5 which has bread slots 51 on the upper surface in an exterior case 2 with a toaster opening 23 on the upper surface and is installed with a heating device 6 which heats slices of bread which are inserted through the bread slots 51 and held in standing posture, a shutter 3 which travels on a guide rail 4 laid on the exterior case 2 and opens/closes the toaster opening 23 is provided and a gap layer 52 is formed between the exterior case 2 and the interior case 5.
