A spiral compartment stacker (1) comprises a stacker wheel (4) for receiving sheets (6, 7, 8), an ejector (2) for ejecting the received sheets (6, 7, 8), and a stacking rack (9) for stacking the ejected sheets (6, 7, 8). The ejector (2) is mobile and ejects the sheets (6, 7, 8) in a first position from the stacker wheel (4) in such a manner that they are temporarily stacked between the stacker wheel circumference and a guide track (3). When the ejector (2) is moved to a second position, it stacks the temporarily stacked sheets (7) onto the stacking rack (9) and subsequent sheets (6, 7, 8) are stacked directly onto the stacking rack without being temporarily stacked. |
