The chain (1) is assembled of a multitude of chain links with side bars (2), each comprising two circular openings opposite each other at their outer ends for the insertion of connecting bolts (3) with rounded heads (5). An axial motion of the bolts (5) is prevented by side bars (4) pressed to the outer surfaces of the chain (1). Each of the side bars (2, 4) is provided with at least one additional narrow opening reduced in the center and wider at the outer ends.
