<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device capable of correcting only a high luminance section produced on a specific part necessary to reduce its luminance and removing or reducing shininess on the specific part. <P>SOLUTION: Correction treatment for reducing luminance and brightness of a pixel is not simply applied on pixels with high luminance or high brightness. First, designated parts (such as a face, eyes, and a mouth) of a photographed subject are detected, and then, a correction degree of each of pixels are determined on the basis of detected results (positions and colors of the designated part). Thus, high luminance and brightness on a part unnecessary to reduce its luminance and brightness is not changed, and image correction is applied on a part (such as the part generating shininess on a skin) necessary to reduce its luminance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
