PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a surveying device capable of surveying easily the center position of an internal space of a structure wherein an obstacle exists. SOLUTION: This surveying device 1 for determining the center position of the internal space in the structure is equipped with a pair of laser distance measuring devices 60 for transmitting laser light in the mutually opposite directions; and a scale display plate 50 provided movably in some direction wherein the laser light is transmitted, for displaying the center position. The surveying device 1 is constituted as follows: the device is installed approximately on the center position of the internal space of the structure; the distances from the pair of laser distance measuring devices 60 to the light and left side walls are measured; the distance L1 from the left-side laser distance measuring device 60 to the left-side wall and the distance L2 from the right-side laser distance measuring device 60 to the right-side wall are determined; and the scale display plate (slide scale 50) for displaying the center position is moved to the left-side wall side as long as a displacementδ=(L1-L2)/2.
