PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive surveillance camera usable by a user in a simple manner. SOLUTION: When an AC plug 14 is plugged into an AC power socket 15, the surveillance camera 10 is turned on. When there is a rapid change in photometry data from a photometry sensor 13 and received by a CPU 19, a CCD 21 starts interval photographing. A photographing signal outputted from the CCD 21 is given to an image processing LSI 24 as image data via a gain changeover amplifier 22 and an A/D converter 23 and thereafter fed via an interface circuit 28 to a modulation-demodulation circuit 29, where the photographing signal is modulated and converted into a video signal. An AC communication circuit 30 transmits the video signal superimposingly on an AC line 18 via the AC plug 14 and the AC power socket 15. An AC communication circuit 38 receives and separates the video signal via an AC power socket 33 and an AC plug 34. Further, a modulation-demodulation circuit 39 converts the video signal into image data and an HDD of a PC stores the image data via a USB interface circuit 39. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
