PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorescent lamp with external electrode with improved illuminance at lamp end side. SOLUTION: The fluorescent lamp with the external electrode 100 is formed by arranging at least a pair of conductive electrodes 2 on the outer face of a glass bulb 1 in which, rare gas is enclosed and phosphor is applied on its inner face. The electrodes are stuck on the glass bulb through an adhesive 3, and the thickness of the adhesive at center part of the glass bulb is made thicker than that at both end part thereof.
