PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rigid polyurethane foam which sufficiently satisfies practically desirable requirements such as low friability and excellent dimensional stability and is also 100% water-foamable. SOLUTION: The method for producing a rigid polyurethane foam comprises foaming a mixture containing an isocyanate, a polyol, a foaming agent and a catalyst. The polyol comprises (1) a sucrose-based polyol obtained by polymerizing a specific amount of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide onto sucrose; (2) a diol-based polyol obtained by polymerizing a specific amount of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide onto a diol; and (3) an aniline-based polyol obtained by polymerizing a specific amount of ethylene oxide and propylene oxide onto aniline.
