Method for monitoring a temporarily varying parameter in which a set parameter range is calculated or defined and values are then measured at regular intervals from which an estimation value of the parameter can be calculated. If the estimation value lies outside the set range, an iteration process is triggered in which weighting factors are applied to the measured values in order to improve the accuracy of the measurement value until an iteration end condition is fulfilled. The invention also relates to a corresponding computer program for implementing the inventive method.
