OPTICAL FIBER ALIGNMENT FIXTURE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To align individual optical fibers drawn out of an optical cable in a row.

SOLUTION: A movable clamp 34 is preliminarily placed near a fixed clamp 30. The optical fibers drawn out of an underwater optical cable 10 are laced through a slit 28 and through between elastic bodies 44 and 50 of the fixed clamp 30. The height of the slit 28 is as narrow as to allow an optical fiber to be laced but to prevent two optical fibers laced. The plurality of optical fibers are laced between the elastic bodies 64 and 70 of the movable clamp 34 and held with the fixed clamp 30 in an aligned state, and also held with the movable clamp 34 in an aligned state. In this state, the movable clamp 34 is moved along a guide axis 32 to be separated from the fixed clamp 30.
