IMAGE DATA COMPRESSION DEVICE, ELECTRONIC APPARATUS, AND IMAGE DATA COMPRESSION METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image data compression device for optimizing partial charges of compression processing of image data between hardware and software and generating compressed data at a fixed rate corresponding to the speedup of an input frame rate of the image data, and to provide an electronic apparatus and an image data compression method.

SOLUTION: The image data compression device 10 comprises: a thinning detection section 80 for performing processing to detect whether or not an input frame is a target frame of thinning each time image data for one frame are inputted from an imaging section 90; a compression processing section 70 for performing compression processing of the image data; and a frame skip section 60 for performing skip processing to skip the compression processing of image data for one frame to be performed by the compression processing section 70 on the basis of a result of the detection in the thinning detection section 80. The frame skip section 60 performs said skip processing on the condition wherein the thinning detection section 80 judges the input frame as the thinning target frame.
