PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for managing authentication relationship in a peer-to-peer collaboration system and automatically displaying the relationship to a cooperator. SOLUTION: Appropriate user-to-data association is maintained in a shared space formed by the peer-to-peer collaborative system by means of a simplified minimum user interface allowing a user to easily authenticate another member in the shared space. Especially, support is provided for automatically constructing authenticated relationship even if the user does not take the time for authentication of the other user. When the user enters the shared space and makes contact in this space, a specific icon identifying an authentication status of the contact address is attached to a display name of each contact address. For preventing confusion and spoofing of the contact address, a mechanism for solving correspondence between the contact addresses of the same display name is provided.
