PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal surface treatment composition which does not comprise harmful chromium and also can form a film having corrosion resistance comparable to that by chromate treatment, to provide a surface-treated metallic sheet treated with the surface treatment composition, and to provide a fingerprint resistant steel sheet obtained by being treated with the surface treatment composition and thereafter forming a film having fingerprint resistance on the surface-treatment film. SOLUTION: The metal surface treatment composition is characterized in that, to (A) 100 pts.wt. of the solid content of a water base organic high polymer compound, (B) a phosphoric acid compound of 5 to 30 pts.wt., and (C) an amino acid compound of 2 to 20 pts.wt. are contained.
