PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light quantity adjusting device whose constitution is simple, which has no ruggedness on the surface of a base plate facing to a light-shielding curtain, and where the strip-shaped electrode of the base plate is easily connected to a drive circuit. SOLUTION: A shutter device 21 is constituted, by laminating a 1st base plate 25 equipped with the strip electrodes 24 at a part except for an optical aperture part 22 and a light-shielding curtain non-moving part 23 on the outermost side surface after assembling, for example; a glass plate which is transparent and whose both front and back surfaces are smooth; a 1st spacer 26 for movably housing the 1st light-shielding curtain 27 in a frame; a partition plate 28 whose both surfaces are smooth, which possesses an optical aperture part 33, and which has light-shielding properties at the other part; a 2nd spacer 31 for movably housing a 2nd light-shielding curtain 29, and a 2nd base plate 32 having the same constitution as that of the 1st base plate 25 and arranged with point symmetry therewith, with respect to the center of the partition plate 28 in a tight contact state. Since either of opposite members on which the 1st and the 2nd light shielding curtains slide is the partition plate having the smooth surface and the other is the base plate on whose surface none is disposed, the smooth moving action of the light-shielding curtains is ensured. Since the strip electrodes are disposed on the outermost side of the shutter device 21 after assembling, wiring for connecting the strip electrodes to the drive circuit is facilitated.
