<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vibration wave motor becoming the drive source of a rotator exhibiting high motor efficiency with low frictional loss. <P>SOLUTION: The vibration wave motor 40 comprises rotors 16 and 17 integrated in the rotational direction and an annular stator 15, and a vibrator 41 having a rectangular parallelepiped multilayer piezoelectric, a supporting shaft 46 and drivers 44 and 45 wherein the supporting shaft 46 is fixed to the outer circumference of the stator 15 along the radial direction, and the drivers 44 and 45 are clamped while abutting against the rotors 16 and 17 arranged on the opposite side faces in the axial direction of the stator with spring biasing force. When the vibrator 41 is driven and elliptical motion is excited through combination of bending standing wave vibration and longitudinal vibration by the drivers 44 and 45, the rotors 16 and 17 are rotated and driven relatively to the stator 15. Frictional loss is reduced because the drivers 44 and 45 are clamped by integrated rotors 16 and 17, and a vibration wave motor exhibiting high conversion efficiency can be provided. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
