PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inexpensive and highly reliable drive circuit and a plasma display device. SOLUTION: The drive circuit having a fourth drive circuit for driving a fourth switch element (SW 4) for connecting a first signal line to one end of a capacitive load and a fifth drive circuit for driving a fifth switch element (SW 5) for connecting a second signal line to one end of the capacitive load is provided. At least either of the fourth drive circuit and the fifth drive circuit has a low-level shift circuit (801) for shifting the input signal having the third potential as a reference to a signal having a low-level reference voltage based on the the voltage generated in the second signal line as a reference and a high-level shift circuit (803) for shifting the signal having the low-level reference voltage as a reference to a signal having the output reference voltage of the fourth or fifth switch element as a reference.
